Cambridge in Hamilton Mill, Dacula GA
Case: The homeowners wanted to take a small back yard and create a staycation retreat that has a resort feel. There were some minor drainage and privacy issues with the existing landscape that needed to be take into consideration. The other challenge was fitting all of the features in to the area in a balanced way.
Solution: Working in conjunction with a pool contractor and carpenter we were able to create a resort like retreat they could walk out to. We initially came in to remove the existing wood deck and cap the irrigation system. The pool was laid out to be the main focal point while the gazebo and trees used to screen areas off the property. Berms and a dry creek bed with river stone were used to channel water across the landscape. A stone fire pit surrounded by pavers is a quaint sitting area off to the side. An outdoor kitchen area is located conveniently between the indoor kitchen and gazebo. Each area is tied together by pool decking, walkways, and stepping stones. There is also a Zoysia grass area for the family dog to play on. The finishing touches are outdoor lighting and sound system to extend the hours of relaxation and entertaining well into the evening hours.
